Title: When Making Backups , Does The Burner Need To Be The Master?
Post by: Zoneout on December 14, 2006, 11:47:00 PM
I don't think it matters as long as the both drives work fine under windows

Some burners such as the Pioneer 111D prefer to be set as master.  So it wouldn't hurt anything to try and do a swap.

I know this might sound like a dumb question but a number of people overlook the jumper settings.  Did you remember to switch the jumpers on both drives?

jester,

yeah , i switched jumpers on both drives.

bigmac : I guess I'll try it and see what happens .
although , I don't see how it will work because I'm not using the dvd rom while the burner is burning.
if I was having problems reading the disc , maybe , but that part seemed to go ok .

but if you say it fixed your error then i guess it can't hurt to try it .

thanks guys.

ok, I switched it and it still isn't working . the only thing it does differently now is open both dvd rom and the burner when I hit the load button on xbox backup creator.

this is the screenshot of the error

anyone tell me what that's actually telling me? the only thing i understand from the error message is the big red X and that its not working .
