OK I just want to make sure ive got everything to grips before I make my own tutorial/guide on this.
How To Backup Xbox 360 Games & How To Burn Them
Requirements
- Xbox 360 modded with Xtreme Firmware (Click Here To See The Product)
- Blank DVD+R Dual Layer Media
- Schtrom v3
- CloneCD
OK is this what you do to backup the game. Put the XBOX 360 game into your Computers DVD-Rom drive (mines is a Samsung DVD RW DW D19A) and then open Schtrom v3. From there, select your drive, then set the Image Path to where you want the files to be extracted to. Then change the Task to "whole disc (stealth xtreme 3.0), then hit Extract.
Now onto burning. Once you have a .DVD file and .ISO file, just open CloneCD, then hit the Write Image tab. Then select the .DVD file and burn at a speed of 2x onto a blank DVD+R Dual Layer disc.
The End...
Is this how you would go about backing up a game, and burning a game. Or is there other stuff I need to buy???

I do believe you have a lot missing. first off, you cant just put the game in a pc drive and read it. usually you need the 360 drive connected to the pc to rip the game. there are other steps including getting the security sector and merging with the game.iso. it is also different depending on what 360 drive you are using.
honestly, the easy method for creating 360 backups would be:
1.Get a samsung sh-d162c pc drive.
2.open up xbox backup creator
3.put disc in drive
4.press read
5.press write
enjoy.

Hmmm.. ok one step at a time...
Connecting the pc to the xbox 360.. is there a certain lead I need for that?
-
i havnt done any of this but from what ive read this item does the job -
http://www.mrmodchips.co.uk/catalog/produc...ate_banner_id=1
you use that to connect your xbox 360 DVD drive to a PC ( need to take your 360 apart) . then you can upgrade the DVD firmware and use the 360 drive to rip games to the PC then you need a certain drive in the PC that can burn dual layer disks

basically, you can either use your xbox drive to READ the dvd's onto your computer (this invovles opening the xbox360 and connecting the xbox drive to your pc sata port, kind of complicated for noobs) or buy the samsung SH D-162c drive and flash that with kreon to read xbox games to your computer, regular dvd roms will not be able to read the xbox 360 discs.
on the burning side (from what I understand, may not be correct), you can use any dvd DL writer that has bit setting or booktype so that it can set the dvd DL to dvd-rom mode. A common dvd writer for this is the pioneer dvr-111d.
You can either use xbox backup creator which is a very noob program (which i use), or you can build the iso yourself using various programs. An iso consists of the ss, image, video. once you built the iso you can burn it onto the dvd.
so in total you need TWO drives, one to burn (pioneer) and one to read (either xbox360 drive or samsung SH D-162c).
This is what I understand to make backups, correct me if i'm wrong

Kool,
well the thing is, I talked to someone yesterday about getting a drive that could read the xbox games and in my old computer there is a Samsung DVD Rom drive, and I asked if I took that out of there and connected it to mine could I use that, and they said yes, so I was happy about that. But then we checked my Sony DVD RW DW-D19A burner with a program called dvdInfo, and when I opened it and clicked the +RW tab, I got the error:
"It seems that your drive does not support bitsettings"
So I got told I have to update the firmware or something.
So can anyone tell me if im going to be able to do this or what??
This is what I have so far:
Xbox 360 already flashed with Xtreme (latest version)
Blank DVD+R Dual Layer discs
Sony DVD RW DW-D18A burner to burn the games/images
Samsung DVD ROM which I would use to read the Xbox360 games externally
CloneCD to burn the images
