Is this the first game you burned? Did you set the book type to DVD-ROM?

After ensuring you set the book type and all that stuff correctly, consider this:

Depending on your version of Hitachi, you might want to try Birdy. GaryOPA's xtreme 2.1 wouldn't read my backups on my 47dj. Be careful though, because Birdy's been known to brick drives.

You are able to play orig games just fine, right?

Yup probably gonna need one of the latest mediacheck firmwares on the Hitachi before it will work with discs burned on the Sony (or whatever Sony is outsourcing to these days).
