Title: Intermittent Disc Read Problem

I have flashed my Samsung drive with xtreme.

I am getting the message "to play this disc put it in a 360 console".  BUT...I am only getting it about half the time with originals or backups.

If I can get the drive to recognize the game initially, then it plays fine, but as far as initial boot up, it sometimes thinks its a DVD and other times it boots fine.

Since it will play fine sometimes, would this more likely be a hardware problem, or could a bad flash do this.

I also flashed back my original bin, and it still had the same problem.

Any ideas...

Yeah clean the laser.smile.gif

also those laser cleaning discs arent very good to use on  a 400 dollar machine imo.

maybe try a pot tweak, if you can on sammy drives... overall tho, sounds like a bum drive if originals dont work

Just wanted to update this in case it helps someone in the future....I ordered a replacement laser from mod-chip for around 25.00 and installed it, and now my 360 is reading all discs as it should.
