Title: Dvd Burner/bitsetting Firmware

I use this drive and could not get my backups to work at first.  I did not change the firmware on my lite-on, but here's are the two keys I feel to get to them burn properly with a lite-on drive:

1) Use CloneCD, not dvd decrypter
2) Use 'Booktype' to change the setting from DVD+RDL to DVD-Rom*

*Google "Lite-on Booktype"...... 'Booktype' is a program made especially for Lite-Ons to allow you to change the booktype from DVD+RDL to DVD-Rom.... DVDInfoPro would not let me do it.

 Ok so i tried lite-on's booktype 1.3.5 a couple of days ago and it didnt work, it would said it changed it to rom sucessfully when i pressed change but the button next to the left of it (the Write button) did not work, it was greyed out for some reason and i couldnt figure out why, tried crossflashing a few different models and the last model i crossflashed with bricked my burner i think cause i had to disconnect the drive just to get it to boot in any mode. ohmy.gif

So i think i am going to buy the DVR-110 cause of all the good success people have been posting about it.

i succsessfully made some burns with the liteon 1693s , burned at 4x on verbs

update firmware to kc4b http://codeguys.rpc1.../firmwares.html

change booktype to dvdrom with the liteon tool, boom works, no tricks just auto boots.

Hmmm, I'm using the LiteOn SOHW-1693S stock KS02 firmware and I have to do the HDD trick to get mine to read....  I'm going to try to upgrade my LiteOn firmware to the KC4B firmware and see if that works!  What DVD Drive is in your 360 again?

Also, according to the 'Hitachi-LG Xtreme FW Dashboard Timeout Solved' post this morning, "the problem... is not in reading at all, [it] is only about media check routines, so skipping some checks does the trick (so you don't have to do the HDD trick)," but I would rather try to Flash my LiteOn w/ updated firmware in the hopes that that works than tear my 360 apart and do another Firmware upgrade to it.... I will post tonight/tomorrow and let everyone know the results.
