this was discussed somewhere else before... BK isnt black, because mine is 111d and its black.
unless they just added it to the end of the 111d... dunno, try a quick search, maybe you can find the other thread.

Just confirming what the other guys said. My drive is the 111DBK (BLACK) and it works just fine.
And, if your buying it to fix a problem with a hitachi not reading then, yes, this will probably help; it did for me.
mine had 1.19 firmware and I have left it stock and it does bitsetting by default, so just plug it in, burn at low speed and you'll be good to go. You can choose 1x but it wont actually burn at less than 2.4 but they turn out fine with verbatim discs.

Also I've read that updating to the 1.23 firmware from the dangerous bros site produces even better results. It probably won't hurt anything, and you may have a better chance of running disks without tricks.

And just to confirm again, I have two 111dbk's and they both work fine with my hitachi 360 and my samsung 360.

Racist!
Just Kidding
Beige Stuff used to be cheaper, but they make a lot more black ones now, so thats cheaper. Wait this doesn't sound good either. Never Mind!
As all post above said, SAME DRIVE!
