Title: Heat Gun Worked For A While

the heat gun fix worked for a while know i have to do it again but i was thinking on doing some more cooling mods. i think i only haven't tried the 12v mod.
Any more suggestions?

I added 2 fans to my system - 70mm 12v next to the CPU heatsink, and 80mm 12v above the GPU heatsink. Cut a hole for both of them, and they're taking air *in* to the console. Runs like a champ.

so they must get air IN not out? ok great tip, it makes sense (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) going to try that!

you did an excellent job. I just have a question.  can you show me a tutorial on where to get the 12v think?

There's no filter, but so far dust hasn't been an issue. I've had the system for over 2 years, still completely dust-free. It's kept in an entertainment center cabinet, which is kept closed when the system isn't in use.
