Title: Green/yellow Tint Suddenly

Hello.

My XBox 360's picture will suddenly tint heavy green and yellow. When you look at the screen you can also see it flicker. I am using a Yamaha A/V receiver to connect to my Optima projector. This setup has been working just fine until yesterday, never had this problem before. I am using 1080i as the resolution.

I moved the Xbox to my Samsung Plasma tv and the same issue exists.

I changed the resolution from 1080i to 720p and it does not help.

I have used both component and composite cables and have set the switch on the cable to the appropriate HDTV or TV setting and it does not help.

I am not able to pry an X360 from one of my friends' hands for an hour so I can't swap out the box to see if the box is the problem.

I have not tried a new cable yet and I am slow to run out and get a new cable as I am fearing that it's the box itself. Has anyone had this happen and if so what was the solution?

Just an update, I bought a new cable and swapped it out with the old cable: it didn't fix this problem. Is there a known issue with the XBox 360 having a display problem?

My 360 started getting weird green colors too. I don't know if it's the exact thing you have though. For me it was just weird green colors coming out of nowhere. Like stuff that should have been blue might turn into a weird warped green. Soon afterwards I lost all video.

I spoke to Microsoft's Xbox hotline (800-4my-xbox) and they are sending me packaging to return the unit to them for repair -- they feel it's the video card. Will take some 3-wks turn around time.

Hopefully it will be fixed -- i'll post when I get it back.

thats exactly what mine did and now it doesnt work at all. started intermittent yellow tinge, then no video signal with sound, now nothing. i bought an elite to replace it since it was a launch box out of warranty that i had modded (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  now i have a 79FL drive and have to find someone trustworthy enough to mod it. god i miss my hitachi-47 modded 360 lol

Hey guys,

I just got a xbox 360 yesterday and i am worried about when i turn the xbox on it comes up with the normal stuff but before it comes to the game or desktop it comes up with a blue screen and little yellow lines, if you know what it is or suggestions please say.

I just started having the same prob you guys are talking about. It will work fine for 10+ mins, then all of a sudden, Light green shade appears. even when i exit the game it is still on the dashboard. Rebooting seem to fix it for a while. also, no red rings of light. any way to fix this problem like changing to heatsink or installing x-clamps.. etc? I will post some screens later.

Btw: its a pre-launch console from nov 2005, havn't had any problems until now.

after a few hours from having the green/yellow tint, no video will show up on my tv now. even after several reboots. the audio is still working fine. I just did the lawdawg0931's X-Clamp replacement mod and so far it seems to be working fine. will keep you posted.

Hey I've been looking for the solution to this forever too.  Actually my display has been like that since I first started playing.  I have hdmi using the component cables.  Everything has a green / yellow hue.  If I play it on TV instead of HD, then everything is great, color is great, but of course, resolution isnt as good.  Switch to HD, and... GREEN.  It SUCKS!

awwwwwww mine just died last night aswell, same problems... green tint than next reboot error e74
seems like x-clamps may work but not for long
damn this sucks... must be a way to fix it or reason for it

Had the same problem you guys are getting. It is basically a prelude to the Red Ring of Death. I performed the X-clamp replacement on mine 2 weeks ago and it has been running like a champ with no color changes or freeze's. Good luck with the fix or warranty returns however you decide to go about resolving it.

Mine just had a bit of an attack today... was playing jericho than, "click" switched off -fans and all, and 3 red lights flashing
turned it on and off again and worked for the next 20 mins until i switched it off

DAMN IT!

im getting this problem atm, when i go on to the dashboard its a funny colour that usual, sort of dull and heavy.
gameplay is also a bit unsatisfying due to the poor quality of video, ive tryed almost everything trying to fix it...but no luck, can anyone help plzplzplz
