Title: Surround Sound.

HDMI includes the video and audio data in one cable. so the usual way would be to connect the xbox to your a/v receiver (surround sound box), then connect that to your tv (using all hdmi cables).

but im sure there will be a way to get optical digital audio out of it even with the hdmi connector

well if thats the case, then it will have to be a non-standard hdmi cable wont it?

the other option is to have an 'optical only' plug for the normal a/v output. you could of course, still have your component plugged it, it would still output the optical audio
