Title: Purple Screen When Xbox Is Being Hit/shaken
Post by: FahadSaid on March 19, 2007, 01:36:00 PM
There's a weak connection for the GREEN pin of the video connector, dunno if it's on the connector itself or on the mainboard. That explains why you get purple, green is out of the RGB (Red-Green-Blue) colour model, so it only produces reds and blues, which mix to become purple.

id say you weakened one of the pins, but the heat from inside the case seems to have fixed itself, i wouldn't bet on it being 100%, but you should be fine

Problem: Purple Screen When Xbox Is Being Hit/shaken
Solution: Stop hitting and shaking the box.
Question: Why the hell are you hitting/shaking the 360 in the first place?

The screen was purple when he reassembled the system. It was purple from startup, then when he restarted it, it was no longer purple, UNLESS he tapped it. He's just wondering why it happens and how.

I put the 360 back together, fired up a game (Condemned) and the screen was purple. I restart my xbox, and all is good again. Now the thing is, when I slightly tap the case of the 360 I get purple screens (almost looking like artifacts) but it goes away really quick when I stop hitting it. I am not hitting the case hard (lol) just slight tap.
