Technology like this has exsisted for awhile now. Do a search for a vga transcoder. I use this one myself. They sell for about $65 us.

I would be interested how much this one will sell for if its much much better then my current one also if it does 1080p.

The question is, is this a transcoder or 'linedoubler'?  If it's a crappy linedoubler, no thanks.  But if it transcodes the ps3's HDMI cable into true vga, all the way up to 1080p. then this is a great device.

I would love a product like this simply so that I can use one cable for all three systems.

I WILL NOT BUY IT though. Because I don't have my systems standing within a foot of each other.

As far as transcoding HDMI to VGA it won't. It does not have an HDMI connector but a Playstation MULTI AV connector.

Also if it was to transcode HDMI to VGA it would have a pretty hefty price tag due to needing the appropriate chips to handshake with the HDMI interface.

As I expect you know there are units on the market that strip the copyright protection from HDMI by doing exactly that but last time I checked they were around $300-$400 for even a basic model.

so it does component to vga, and we prolly need the xcm multi component cable, version1 of this cable supports Xbox but not wii, version 2 of the component cable supports wii but not xbox. which makes this preety useless unless xcm comes out with cable that supports, xbox, x360, ps3 and wii

So would this allow me to hook my 360 up to my 20" Dell Widescreen monitor and not get such shitty viewing?  When I hooked it up directly it looks like crap.

Which begs this question, are computer lcd screens HDTV capable?

Is there an adapter to turn one component input into multiple inputs, like some a/v switches that put one input into a tv but with touch of a button on the box you choose which input to send to the tv, my old a/v selector has 5 such buttons?  i'd like to know because i only have 2 component inputs into my tv and i have 3 devices that need to input component (xbox360, dvd player, and wii).

VGA much?  I connected my 360 to a 2007wfp and it looked amazing.

I just got an email the other day that Neoya has released their New X2VGA 2 2.0 and states that it supports 1080p.  I would love to hear reviews about both of these products sometime soon and see if they are worth the money.

actually, this seems like something that would do what i'm asking.  i play my 360 through component right now as i have my pc hooked up to the only vga input my tv has.  this device will allow me to plug in all my devices (pc, wii, 360, xbox, and dvd)?  it appears that way to me at least.  when people use this let us know how it is and if i'm thinking right too.

The resolution output for Team Xtender's Mult-cable V2 PC Monitor Adapter is written on their home page.

www.teamxtender.com

"Output resolution ; NTSC (60Hz) 858 x 525 PAL (50Hz) 864 x 625"

I hope I am wrong but is that the max output resolution, regardless of what your console output is?

In the picture there is an HDMI cable attached to the unit.

Well then that confirms that it is just a 'linedoubler', and thereby the image quality will suck.  In order to get true vga with HD resolutions, you'll need a transcoder such as the x2vga.

Yeah.... as much as I'd like something like this, my systems aren't stacked on top of each other either and those pigtail cables look a bit short.

You won't double my lines!  Get a regular VGA cable if you have a 360 or a real transcoder for use on multiple systems.

Definetly cheaply made I mean look at the component cables that come with it they are no more then cheap RCA Jacks. Lik Sang use to sell something like this for 5 bucks! lol. In fact the casing is the same exact cheap product lightweight and flimsy! No thanks

HDTV is just a resolution, so yeah (assuming it's within the monitor's max resolution).

AFAIK, transcoding give worse quality that native output as it's done "on-the-fly". Sounds like you're using a dodgy VGA cable.
