OR an easier possible fix would be to look through your memu for an adjustment called "Purity" (at least that's what it is on mine). This is an adjustment that deals specifically with changes in magnetic fields.
"Purity" is basically a fancy name for "degauss".
I know that most Sony televisions degauss when you turn them on (that's what the "boinng" sound is), which is one good reason to keep HDDs/hotel room cards/floppies (who uses floppies? LOL) away from the screen when you turn them on. Some newer televisions do it only once a day/on a timed schedule, but it can't be altered in the menu at all.
That drill link posted earlier is just an over-complicated way of doing it manually. Only do that if the monitor/TV doesn't have a setting for it, and even then I would try a different method.

Purity meaning to degauss is a brand specific definition (like your Sony example).
On my JVC, when you adjust purity, it adjusts a combination of a set of ring magnets just behind the deflection yoke on the neck of the CRT and the position of the yoke fore-aft. It is not adjustable on all TVs. Mine is a relatively high-end CRT model, so it is.
It adjusts the ring magnest variably, step-by-step, as it does with sharpness, black level, etc. What you'll see if you have a purity adjustment on blue-screen is run the on-screen adjustment bar all the way left, and the upper left hand corner blotches out with red and yellow, and the lower right gets really dark, while the rest of the screen is blue. Run the adjustment bar all the way to the right, and the opposite corners will show the effects.
