Well anyway! I recently got a Dell 2405FPW mainly for the reason to be able to play my Xbox360 and PC on one screen without hogging the main television in the living room! Now on the PC this monitor is great! Running at 1920x1200 over DVI no problems at all, smooth and crisp picture quality...
...but on normal xbox games (Ninja gaiden, Halo, etc...) it shows extremely bad quality, grainy, and well a not really fun to look at picture, though the 360 games seem to run fine... it still looks like anti-aliasing is turned off.
To answer your questions before they start. I am running 360 through Component cables and Yes, I did go through System->Display in the 360 menus and messed around with everything I could to try and get better quality. I also played with the monitor to see if anything could help there as well.
So after all of this I was wondering if there is anyway to get better graphics on this monitor or will I have to pump out some money for a true HDTV.
I have looked through forums and seen VGA connections but will that help my problem? or will it be a waste of time and money
I have also looked up HDTV tuners and was wondering if that would help any, if at all.

Anyway to answer your question, get an official MS vga cable and everything will be fine. From there set your 360 to 1280x1024 resolution, and in widescreen format (it gives yout he option of 'normal' or 'widescreen', for 1280x1024 resolution.
I am currently using a 24" widescreen (16:10) sony trinitron flat crt pc monitor (fw900) for playing the 360 on. It's great.

Does anyone have any other ideas for beautiful looking Izuna Drop spamming or sniper rifle goodness? or will I just have to suck it up with less than great graphics or use my 9 year old 15' TV that looks better than a 1 year old monitor XD (for xbox at least ><)

Again, get a MS vga cable for your monitor if you want a good picture. It's really that simple for just $40.

Remember that some titles don't agree with VGA titles (back compat ones), but i think most of this was fixed with the spring update/back compat update.

That was never an issue with NTSC xbox 1 games. PAL, on the other hand.....
