at first i was impressed with the quality because it was the first time i had seen anything in 720p, after a while i started to notice how dark the games were, black areas had almost no detail & any colours in them looked murky. i decided to try switching to the VGA connection & it made it a lot brighter and easier to see things but the response time didn't seem as good. i was getting more trails and ghosting than i was with Component & it had light bleeding with both cables
when i first bought the TV the guy in the shop told me that it would look exactly the same as the Samsung model they use to display the 360 on , yesterday i found my first dead pixel and phoned Comet to see if i could return the set, the said a tecnitian had to review the problem first before they would let me take it back to the store, on tuesday he will come to my house to look at the problem and decide if they will exchange it.
do you think that the SAMSUNG LE26R41BDX/XEU would be a better tv for my 360?

i know its smaller but image quality is more important to me than size & it will have to be under £800

You can't simply adjust the picture by eye, because to achieve the correct setting for one attribute, you must have the others properly set as well. You need a calibration DVD to do it properly and in the correct order. Trust me, I was in the same boat as you... and now that I've properly calibrated the difference is amazing.
Now, this is all a matter of opinion, but I personally was much more impressed by the LG panels than the Samsung. Granted, the Samsungs looked pretty good, but not as rich or as sharp as the LG.
