There are decent Samsung, Philips, and maybe Sony CRTs out there from 26-30" that might be in your range.

I got a 27" westinghouse for my 360 when my old tv broke.   I think it looks great.  They arent at all that expensive either.   Last I saw prices were under $700 for the one that i bought.

I would stay away from Philips. I've seen a lot of bad reviews on thier CRT HDTV's. Samsung and Sony are always fairly reliable. I've got a Panasonic 26" CRT HDTV that I'm happy with as well. I picked it up last Christmas at Circuit City for $385.
