If your tv has a DVI or D-Sub port then yes you just run the output of your video card to the tv.

And for the other part of your question, if I'm understanding you correctly, I'm sure they have a switch you can use to flip between the tv and your monitor.

Either get a video card with dual monitor support, or look for a monitor switch box.

That has already been discussed.  Can't wait for it either, no wires to hook up systems.

edit: Would any of the following allow computer hook up to a TV? I know it's not one of the mentioned above, but want to check.

EEE1394 with DTV Link (2)
Dolby Digital Audio Output (Coaxial)
S-Video Inputs - Rear (2)
ColorStream® HD Component Video Inputs (2)
HDMI™ (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)
RF Inputs (2)
A/V Inputs - Rear (2)
Front Panel A/V/S Inputs
Video Output
Audio Outputs - Fixed and Variable

IFF your computer outputs in DVI then you can buy a DVI to HDMI adapter and use that.
