The Good Ship Microsoft has come about a full 180 degrees over the whole 1080p issue. First they laughed at it and called it impossible, then they embraced it and, and now Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Double Agent will be the first game to run in 1080p on the Xbox 360....

...We're not sure if Double Agent is being rendered in 1080p natively or if it's taking advantage of the Xbox 360's upcoming upscaling ability. We've asked Ubisoft for clarification, since our drinking buddy Sam Fisher has stopped returning our calls.

I hope that microsoft make 1080i/p a standard for all 360 games since i'm looking for a nice HDTV now.

Now i want to see Halo 3 in 1080p

+1 for M$

sorry but i hope you dont get your way.  i will be pissed if halo 3 ran at 1080p.  720p has just now become the industry standard when it comes to next gen resolution on next gen systems, at that resolution so much more is possible and the games still look gorgeous.

1080i looks AMAZING.

i mistook in game for a cutscene at the beginning of the prison mission.

graphics are simply beautiful.

I have the VGA cable (required for 1080p) and a 1080p set and I just checked my display settings in both the dashboard and the game.  I did not recall seeing a patch come through but I figured that I would check to be sure.  Sadly, nothing yet.  I just picked up Kameo and Lego SW as well so I think Ill go back to those so I can play Splinter Cell in its full glory (assuming we will see a difference).  I personally do not expect much though.  Just look at some of the HD cames on the xbox.  They did not look much better in HD.  On the bright side, this game looks fantastic already.

Bungie couldnt do 1080p if they wanted 2. They cant even implement coop syslink for shits sake. If they do tackle 1080p, Im sure itll only display that res for the arbiters point of view in part 3  rolleyes.gif Or maybe I can run around as one of those popping floods, yeah!

they have stated that 1080p can be carried over component but only for games, movies will not be because it violates some Bullshit copy protection law or something

Damn this game is good lookin.  Im gonna see it in 1080P this weekend but im lovin 720P so far.

When he picks up and puts down enemies its so believable.  The whole thing, excellent.  Could care less about multi so no beef there.
