Umm those are ingame. The last vid I saw looked just as good and someone was playing it on a show floor, TGS maybe? So it wasnt a trailer, it was being played in real time.

I played Test Drive in TGS and it looked nice, but not *this* nice. These look like they're rendered in a modelling program.

ok ok while i admit those screens look absolutely fantastic i am reliably informed by my pgr3 fanboy friends, that u cant polish a turd.i love pgr3 i do.ooooooo pgr3
this game looks great. although i dont agree that it looks better then PGR3 its understandable given the scope of the game. the whole MMO aspect of the online mode is appealing as well. i wouldnt be surprised if the game looked a little bit better then this in fact.
i also dont understand why people dont count replays as in game graphics. it uses the same graphics engine and usually racing games dont enhance the graphics for its replays like they do in sports games. i have been very impressed with both this and PGR3 for different reasons as they are totally different games and im sure i will enjoy both games for what they are.

They both look very fantastic, but the art style and gameplay is so different that they cannot be compared 1:1 imo.
PGR 3 has a sharp, accurate tv broadcast approach that makes you feel you're in a race and people are watching you. Test Drive has more of a movie-like qualities to it with it's beautiful countryside scenery and lighting.

...can't polish a turd? don't tell Sony that, it invalidates their entire marketing stance!
my friends tired of racing games.
According to him, racing games have gotten to the point where they pretty much got as shiny as they can get without looking too much different. If those screenshots are real, then this will prove him wrong. One thing he did say that was rather true is that not much has really advanced in racing games, very few are innovative, like Burnout, and GT4.

GT 4 Innovative?

Burnout is really innovative. Too bad I actually hate playing the damn game, it has nothing to do with racing. Burnout 2 was fun because it was still somehow steerable, but Burnout 3 spoiled everything.
