MS confirmed with IGN today that Perfect Dark Zero will feature two-player online cooperative gameplay in its upcoming Xbox 360 game as well as a healthy batch of new and revisited weapons, many of which can be dual wielded. The most recent issue of the Official Xbox Magazine offers a feature story on Perfect Dark Zero, including hands-on information clarifying new details. Joanna Dark's sequel, long time in the making, offers a Datacore Training level that takes place underwater, Subway Retrieval, and Rooftop levels. Players will have access to Cover Mode, enabling contact sensitive movement around corners and other specific objects, a slew of gadgets, such as Locktopus, Demolition Kits, and Camspys, and play mini-games to unlock doors. Following up on the first Perfect Dark, PDZ continues to provide dual wielding with most automatic weapons (including the ability to wield guns and throw grenades simultaneously), as well as offering primary and secondary firing from most weapons. Perfect Dark Zero's cooperative mode enables tradition side-by-side gameplay, in addition to the you-cover-me-I'll-cover-you tactics, most recently seen in Free Radical's TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. MS also confirmed that all weapons have melee attacks, and that the Jackal Sniper Rifle (secondary function: EMP marker), Laptop Gun (Secondary function: Sentry Gun), P9P Pistol (which can be dual wielded; secondary function: Silencer with flashlight), UBL Liberator SMG (secondary function: Booby trap), SuperDragon (secondary function: bouncing grenade launcher), and the Viblade (which can chain combo) are all in the game. IGN also learned that Perfect Dark Zero is finally looking much, much better. We've heard a new batch of screenshots show off the game in a different light than at E3, with great texture work, sharp surfaces, and highly polished levels. Lastly, we've learned that Perfect Dark Zero is not concretely set to launch day and date with Xbox 360. In other words, it's doubtful as a day one launch title. Expect to see it in 2005, and most probably before Christmas, but not day one.

am i the only one that knows no thing about perfect dark? i see people raging over it like its the greatest sequel to be ever. but ive never played or even seen the original? is there an original perfect dark? clue me in as to what its all about lol
Perfect dark has a HUGE following, and fans of the first, millions of them, are clamoring to get their hands on the long awaited sequel.
there, thats your history lesson.
The game will sell a couple million copies alone in that respect, watch and see.
unless its the ONLY game someone was planning on getting on launch day, I dont see the problem of it coming out a week or 2 later(if it even happens that way).
There are many other great games coming out, surely you can find something else to tide you over till PD Zero hits.
i think Rare should take their time, i personally would want a solid bug free game then half finished, quick release crap. Also think M$ should stop pressuring them to get it finish ASAP (if they're pressuring them at all) for release "window" date.

oh shit,i heard pgr and oblivion are off the launch list tto
and the fire that was 360 goes out
I'll be happy with CoD 2 and/or Recon at launch. Ive been thru too many launches to know that too many good games at once is NOT pleasant.
I can happily wait for the others, let them launch when they are truly finished.
This will be as bad as Dreamcast. A pile of games and trying to spread playtime amongst them all..not fun. Not fun At all.
and sooner or later they get neglected due to one being a killer, and once I get my hands on Recon 3 or Oblivion, its all over for the others I got
I hope Gears and Splinter dont launch around the same time, or there will be hell to pay
Untill then eat a bag of
or some juicy wet pussy what ever ties you over.
I would go for the pussy fuck the popcorn

I honestly don't mind waiting a little longer for PDZ to release.. and i don't see the problem..
im glad there atleast takeing the time to polish what games were being taken of
i guess im stuck with EA games and GR at launch.....oh well as long as oblivion and PD0 are worth it
How old are you people? You never heard of perfect dark? God, you people that are growing up on PS2 and xbox really need to get a old n64 and appreciate one of the greatest fps console shooters of all time. You could get a used n64 and pd for probably $50-$60. Then you have access to Goldeneye, the turoks, and other great games (i.e. Pilotwings, Mario 64)
I guess its just the problem that a lot of us grew up on nes, snes, genesis. We know the classics. I still pop on my snes every now and then. You dirty little graphics junky bastards.
this was my #1 wanted game for launch, but from the little information we've recieved about this game, and the playable demo ive been playing hours nightly of cod2, i want that game so bad right now
first of all im happy this is all that is wrong, i thought it was something serious.
for anyone that knows RARE at all you should be used to delays from them. there are going to be plenty of other games to tide you over for a couple of weeks. i say good for them that they are trying to make the most out of their title. im sure if they werent pressed to make the launch window they would have delayed the game another 6 months to a year.
ok, then how long has rare been working on PD0?

the longer you delay the even more hype it builds and even more of a let down it becomes, ala halo 2
I'm sure they said they cut off the players to 32 online and the killTV to make sure it was bug free for launch?

thats not entirely true. there are as many, if not more, people who think that halo 2 should have been delayed even further as there are people who think what you do. also there are people who put their expectations too high, doesnt matter how that happens either: by buying into the hype, talk on the street, or the love for the prequal. delays dont build hype as much as PR talk and individuals expectations do. my expectations were very realistic and they let me down in them taking out co-op over LIVE/LAN. the arbitor doesnt count because we had no idea of him, but now that we do he better be out of halo 3, and that is one of my expectations as well as co-op over LIVE/LAN.
using Duke 4ever is stretching it a little, lol
thats a myth, it doesnt exist.
