I must agree the NBA 2K series are much better than EA
And it was 98 and 99 when gameday was better than Madden
But anyways while I think the NFL 2K series were good, some of the gameplay was still kind of choppy and not as smooth. I think one of the main selling points for it also was the fact that it was cheap and it was an alternative to the madden monopoly which overtime had become complacent in their development.
While I agree its time for a Madden overhaul, overall madden just has that flame that I continue to fly to every year and when its all said and done Madden will remain one of the top franchises of all time

I glad i was able to expirience how games have come along first hand...
centerpede was one of my favorites on ....i think it was the 78 hundred or 76 dam
brain fart i wish i would have kept those....
but madden was the best back then..i think what happens now is all the hype that goes into madden football players ect...i dont think madden really has what it takes for real football fans like myself who has had dolphin season tickets since the early 90 ,s with my uncle can tell you that 2k sports was on the right track
forget about graphics even tho i like 2k it is really the depth of the game that 1 me over...
I was a madden fan till 2004 so from 88/89 till now was a long ride but they stoped pleasing the tru gamer...i see it like an arcade style football now a days

I've seen the screens and it looks like utter crap compared to the rendered video they were showing.
I kid you not but NFL 2K5 gives it a run for its money.
Speaking of NFL 2K5, I was a big time Madden fan back in the early and mid 90's.
Actually, if it weren't for the original Madden, I probably wouldn't be as big a football fan as I am now.
The 16 bit games were awsome. The irony of coarse is that Visual Concepts developed a few of these titles for EA.
But as soon as they left, EA struggled. Tiburon (I think that's how it's spelled) just can't make the transition to 3D. Madden, while a pretty solid game, hasn't been able to duplicate the gameplay of the old school 16 bit games. Not even with Madden 06.... The game just runs too damn slow and the graphics are very weak.
Don't get me wrong, I'd be playing Madden till this day and would enjoy it somewhat. But Visual Concepts took over with the NFL 2K series.
It finally brought the speed of the 16 bit games into 3D.
Madden just couldn't compare after that. I tried playing Madden but it just felt like a step backwards. Sort of like going from playing your Xbox, to playing something as outdated as the original Playstation.
As for Gameday?
Sorry but I think that games was 100% garbage.
I never understood why it was so popular when it first came out....

Joe Montana Football was the NFL 2K's of the Genesis. It was the SEGA sports Football games and I agree with you, Joe Montana Sports Talk Fottball was the shit, fuck madden, yes even fuck madden back in the day, madden has always sucked, both the game and John Maddens annoying fat ass

I think its Al micheals on 2k5 ....man his voice is sweet next to maddens constapated ass.
just imagine the leap 2k sports is taking with basketball ..how would 2k6 football look next gen.....freaking amazing.
this just isnt fair....and they say the N.F.L wanted it..
I think 2k sports should go to N.F.L europe id prefer 2k with players unknown then put up with madden...

Its like the car buissness on the comercial they show you a fully loaded car with alloy wheels and the price for ex is 20k when you get to the dealer and ask for that price they roll up a car with hub caps and no power window or locks....
This industry shouldnt try mis leading us...they should stop it now...
this has been going on for to long....i remember when i bought games that had no reviews and you only had the pics in the back of the cover (game) and the graphics looked good but when you played it was tiny charactors and the cover only had cut scene grapics that bull crap......
ex Online expirience may change when playing on-line
it should be..on back of cover before buying
