ok, after beating the game on legendary, you see the ending of MC drifting through space. hes in his cryo tube and cortana is there with him. this is all you see and know. the game takes place in what, 2552 if i remember correctly...
well anyways, bungies other famous game. Marathon
marathon begins with you in the year 2794. if i read correctly, the beginning of marathon starts with you waking up being cold inside a tube for around 200 years. anyone see where im going with this?

with bungie leaving it so open, are they implying that MC is the protagonist of marathon too?
they said halo was only a trilogy, the story arc was done. but what if they next step is of marathon, the new story (i guess old story) arc is marathons story. halo is actaully a prequel if this true.
am i stretching this or what do you guys think? maybe bungie plans on doing full out remakes of marathon.

anyone who remember marathon good, are there any like references in it that go in hand with halo? maybe this is why they decided to add terminals, something marathon had to show a connection.

I'm pretty sure youre right about it being the prequel to marathon. Now can anyone explain the planet the ship was headed to at the end?  huh.gif

i would like to know the story behind the legendary ending.......i hope this means there will be more master chief in the future..........halo 3 just didnt have enough gameplay, it only took like 6 hours to beat it on legendary

but i still love it biggrin.gif

ok so heres what i take of the situation

he either
A. lost in slipstream travel and thats where the dyson sphere is....a shield world   look up ghosts of onyx, the rings are the sword and the shield world is the shield, refering to what cortana said.
the shield world is made up of beefed up sentinels and it supposed to be like the ark   it would save you from destruction of the rings

or

B. he's heading towards the ship marathon which as we all know was one of mars moons that was converted into a spaceship     a big space ship       it was very mechanical since it was a ship and all    (the planet at the end of H3 looks mechanical   deatth starish)      so that would lead into marathon and bridge the gap quite nicely wouldnt we all say?

either way theres gonna be more of the chief and i cant freakin wait.

To be a technical Ass, bungie has stated that halo and marathon are not related and are totally different universes.

But to be fair they have also claimed that they werent working on H3 and many other things that were later turned on their heads.

Alex seropian  has stated in the past that the protagonist from Halo and marathon are one and the same so we will just have to wait and see whats going on.


My personal belief is that its a forerunner planet / shieldworld like Onyx. Either way John 117 is by no means dead and we will damn sure be running amok with the MC 4-5 years from now. Maybe in 3 1/2 years well get some actual info.
