I was searching the gamestop website and noticed a link for Halo 3.  So I clicked it and apparently, they have it for sale.  It ships June 1, 2006 for 59.99.  If what people are saying is correct (Halo 3 will ship when PS3 is released), than you can also expect the PS3 to ship June 1, 2006.

For those who haven't yet figured it out, gamestop and eb never know anything, they make it up.  The employees know even less.  They will tell you they have inside info, or there are guys who have to know this stuff that let them know, but you just have to look at their March Halo 2 release date to know they are just lying for money.  Come on, people on this site should know to go to the source for info such as release dates.  If there was a date it would have made front page for sure.

they get your money for a long time before the game is out. they make money on your money.
