HMMMMM, another guitar hero problem with a modded box.  Things are looking a little fishy with the flashed drives.  Here's another post of another person having a problem similar to yours:

I managed to find the problem....for some reason, my apartment has some sort of interferance in the living room area, both my apt and my friends upstairs both boxes have the interferance, but as soon as i took the box to my bedroom and used my lcd tv in there, it works!!
