12:23: GTA4 on 360, October 17 in US, October 19 in Europe.MS and Rockstar will have some kind of exclusive Xbox Live content, more to be announced in the future.
i can care less about the game but again its the name brand that will bring in console sales which is great
-
XBOX 360 EXLUSIVE!
October 16th!
-
Hell yeah, I also could care less about the series anymore. I mean what else can they really do to upgrade GTA anymore?
The only reason this makes me happy is maybe we can steal some of the PS2 fanboys. I think it's the only reason my cousin didn't want an xbox, he loves GTA and they always come out for PS2 months in advance, maybe this will steer him away from the PS3 and he'll get a 360.
-
its an exclusive as well?? i didnt read that in the report

No I think gamespot were getting mixed up with a sentence GTA and EXCLUSIVE in it I think them jumped to conclusions.

ONLY ON XBOX 360 IN OCTOBER BECAUSE PS3 WON'T BE RELEASED.
-
now im reading reports on other sites that its an exclusive. so maybe its true.
-
When i read this i had a simultaneous heart attack and orgasm.
I could care less for GTA (found it kinda boring) but its the kind of game that really moves systems so im VERY glad that MS got it as an exclusive... (if it did...IGN states that it is not an exclusive while gamespot states the oposite).

I ment to add YET to that.
-
what im finding out is that it IS an exclusive but a timed one. no biggy, many people got ps2 for GTA even though they know they knew it was coming to the xbox as well.

This is great news!
Although you know, as with the Xbox from PS2, when its released on other formats it'll have extra features... but then, I remember PS2 owners rubbing it in Xbox owners faces that they had the previous ones first.
I had a PC. I just loaded up my MP3's and laughed at all of them.

i wouldnt hold my breath on that. the 360 will have DL content and anything new to come out for PC or ps3 will surely come in DL form atleast.

Calm down. You have never been this hyper, not even at last E3.

12:54: I get the official Rockstar Games announcement of Grand Theft Auto IV in my e-mail--it says that the game will be release simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PS3. Moore said it was coming to 360 first. What the...?
Gamspot.

Core programming isn't easily changed, though. Surface stuff, like extra content, sure, but it depends no where they go with it.
Got me thinking... do any companies think on using the HD to download engine code onto for their games in order to later patch or add improvements?

At the press confrence MS just announced that GTA 4 will only be on Xbox 360 and will get udates through Xbox Live!!
I dont think thats entirely true because if you go to http://www.rockstarg...randtheftauto4/ it shows it for PS3 as well I think what they meant was that XBOX 360 will get "Exclusive content" via XBOX Live
-
its only the epsodic content thats exclusive its being released on the ps3 at same time theyll probally look the same

PSĀ£ released in october?
-
Oh crap. I thought it was released this year!
Looks like it will be fall 2007!
-
i dont get u people. who cares if its not exclusive? we should be lucky we are getting it in the first place
-
I wouldnt believe it if it werent tattooed on Moore's arm.
Finally MS got it right. And its understandable that Rockstar doesnt want to lose a few hundred million just because of an exclusivity deal with MS, and maybe MS doesnt want to pay the same amount to buy them out.
Simultaneous launch is bliss for me. I was shocked to find that GTA3 went exclusive to PS2 after it was supposed to be an xbox1 launch title aswell (only a couple months after the ps2 version), and I was so angry they had to rape a pinnacle game with the lower end system (bad framerates). The xbox1 version was far superior though far too late.
This time I will get my game and I dont have to buy another console for it!
-
Imagine my horror... GTA addict - went & bought a copy of San Andreas (Xbox1) because the gamestore had an incorrect game compatibilty list. BASTIDS... not compatible with my region (Australia).
Anyone got any ideas for de-regioning or other solutions?
btw - can't wait for a Live multiplayer GTA!

At E3 Microsoft made the announcement that Grand Theft Auto 4 would debut not only on a Sony platform, but also on the Xbox 360. In addition, Microsoft placed a lot of emphasis on talk of new episodic content coming exclusively to Xbox 360. Yesterday, during Microsoft's X06 press conference, Peter Moore announced that the Xbox 360 version of GTA4 will be receiving two exclusive downloadable episodes, each said to contain hours of new gameplay.
The new episodes will be available soon after the release of GTA4, which is scheduled for October 16, 2007 in North America and October 19, 2007 across Europe. Pricing is yet to be revealed.
