Title: Trouble Streaming Large Video Files
Post by: tards on January 04, 2004, 02:23:00 PM

Nope, I've tried every option using Windows shares, Relax, and ccxstream.  My ~5gb or greater files will not work with XBMC.

They work fine with XBMP and Relax, so back XBMP I go!  <

This is not a new problem.  It was reported as a bug last September.  I can't play MPEG2 files > 2Gb either.  :(   <

Me too.  I'm recording the MPEG2 stream directly from DTV without any decoding/encoding, and anything above 45 minutes or so needs splitting into smaller files. :(

The problem also exists in XBMP, and it's not being fixed there either.   <

Anyone else having trouble with large (>6gb) video mpg files to XBMC?  I am using Windows shares, and most files work great, it is just the huge ones that lock up.  These same files work great with XBMP (same config).

Are there any limitations on file sharing size?

Thanks

I've never tried a file that large, but the only thing I can think of is the put file into cache settings....play with those. Let me know if you get it,cause I'm going to try some larger files soon.
