Title: Beta Testing Of FFXI On 360 In Europe
Post by: KAGE360 on December 08, 2005, 02:07:00 PM
i dont care for this series myself and there hasnt been a MMO out yet that seems worth a monthly charge IMO but for those who care this seems like some interesting news.  especially for those here who live in europe this sounds like a deal.  maybe we'll get the same attention here.

People in UK you are in for a treat, Official Xbox Magazine 360 in the UK will be offering the full beta version of Final Fantasy XI in an upcoming issue. You can't beat that!

I should have clarified.  It comes with the system, not on the HDD.

And no, no hype.

As for the beta talk, it's exactly that.  Beta (unfinished) version of FFXI.. We get to test it for bugs and otherwise give Squeeinx a chance to iron out issues before they actually release the game for sale. smile.gif

so if it comes for free on the hard drive... then exactly why would they sell it?

I've always been of the opinion that games with a monthly charge should either be free or have a very small (read, same price as the monthly charge) initial cost.

For me that would be worth getting into one... If the game cost $10 initially and had a $10 monthly charge playing for 4 or 5 months I would feel like I'm getting my money's worth out of it. Heck even if you payed $60 up front and it came with 5 months "free" off the bat.

I've never played an MMO mostly because I can't see value in dropping $50-$60 just for the ability to start paying monthly fees...

I'd complain that it's not out in the US yet but I fear for it's release because it means my Girlfriend will probably monopolize the 360  ph34r.gif
