Title: Usb Storage Question
Post by: Nobin on May 17, 2006, 09:43:00 PM
i created a homemade usb to xbox usb device.

i would like to know if there is anyway for the xbox to read my usb storage devices, they are in Fat and Fat32 format.

i know there is a way to reformat so xbox can read, but i want to read them in their current format. unleash x shows the drive, but says it is unformated.

and one more thing what is the defualt password for the unleash x format menu?

Non-Linux programs on Xbox: only FATX support.

Linux on Xbox: any filesystem for which you compile support into the kernel for.

An exception might be that someone was looking into FAT(?) support for Xbox Media Center, but I have not heard anything else from it. And no, you can't play games from an USB device.

Read the .XML from UnleashX to retrieve the password.

I'm looking at FAT support for XBMC. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Some progress has been made (I have some filesystem structure dumping over a debug connection, from a seperate xbe) but it'll be a while yet, I'm quite busy with my actual job (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
