I have been working on getting the 100 wins achievement in Survival Mode...I have managed 69 wins in Tag battle and I think with a few more times at it I will be able to get 100. As for single does anyone have any suggestions...I seem to stall out at 30 or so...

I've found that Hitomi kicks the most ass on a consistant basis. She has very good reversals and devistating power attacks that push opponents into the ring. Double Reach all the time. Just don't get her in the corner... ugh, so cheap!
-
my only suggestion is pick your best character and go for the goal. the more you try the more your skills will improve. the ring for the mode is rather small so maybe if one of the power hitters is a character you excel at then you can use that as an advantage and try to keep the computer on the ropes racking up bonus points.

i've been wondering, what do danger reach and power reach mean? i didn't see it explained anywhere.

they are point bonuses. you get added points for juggles, combos, and items picked up.

I had been using Christie and Ein...I could easily swap Ein for Hitomi...
Anyhow have any of you hit the 100 mark for either?

That would be a NO. I get to about 18 and the CPU owns my ass. In an almost cheap fashion. Always against the ropes and almost always against Bayman/Leon.

havent really tried much only played a couple of times and that was it. when i get my fixed 360 ill be sure to try for it.
-
The CPU seems to get harder right around 20, 40 and 60...I can only assume it is the same for 80 and 100...
-
look at the leaderboards, if you do manage 100 you'd be among a very elite few... mostly Japanese too...
I very rarely get 20 in single, and for some reason I have a harder time with tag (though theoretically with better health management you'd do better there).
I used Ein because he's my best character and I use Hitomi because she's the most like Ein...
it seems you're the most suited in this forum to answer your own question though

I will dedicate the 100 to this board when I get it.

Check it out, I got 39 with the Spartan. It wasn't too hard, she can slam them against the ropes nonstop. The kills come quick. But in the last week I haven't gotten past 10. Many times the computer owns me in the first 3 matches. It's like it's getting harder as the days go by. I have the most trouble with Ayane and Gen Fu. For some reason I can't hit them 90% of the time. Ayane is way too freaking fast if you ask me.
-
I did not know that you could use a two player approach...do you mean that I could control one and my friend could control the other...or just hand off the controller? I got 69 again last night...damn you Lei Fang damn you to hell!
-
I try atleast once a day to get the 20 win bronze achivement, i've gotten to 19 a couple times now and then i get like 10 hit combo'd and i just get too mad to play anymore and have to turn it off
-
Damn you have a bunch of achievement points...
-
Something else I've noticed in my daily beatdowns courtesy of the computer...
Use throws against grapplers (Leon, Bayman, Bass, & Tina will almost ALWAYS counter your combos) and use combos against everyone else.
For extremely fast characters like Ayane and Kasumi. They notoriously use high and low attacks, so learn how to counter those. Ein/Hayate also use alot of high attacks. Simply countering with Away + Free will not counter their attacks.
Just some more tidbits I picked up. The training mode will really help you ID the difference between high and mid attacks. Just hit L3 and punck/kick away!
-
to add to that 95% of the time Gen-Fu will use mid punch attacks
When I play against the computer in story mode, even if I face him on level 7, I can beat him most of the time by simply mid-punch countering the whole time.
Also I've noticed that the computer rarely counters below level 25, 25 to 35 it will counter a little more frequently, and above that it plays essentially normal.
so take advantage of the fact that the computer will rarely counter in the begining.

achievement points aren't everything, take a peak at the games he has in there, i'm pointing specifically at games that give points away such as madden, fifa, nba, king kong that all give 1000 each with next to no work (not saying he's not a skilled gamer, he has quite a few points from other games as well that don't give them away such as perfect dark/doa 4)

I will try that out...
As for achievements...how do you look at someones without them being on your friends list?

Click on their gamertag, either by subbing it into the http link, or by finding them on Xbox.com, and click "Compare Games". You'll be able to see everything that they've played compared to everything you've played.

http://live.xbox.com...Twistedsymphony
swap out "twistedsymphony" with whatever gamertag
XS has it setup so the left hand gamer card links to their profile/games and achievments.

Cool...I oculd not find a way to do it on the Xbox.com site...seems like something they would have had made easy access to. Thanks.

Bad news Bob, When I took mine in for repairs, they gave me a new HDD. I had to do half of CoD2 over again.
Also, I've worked pretty hard for most of my achievements. I've seen a guy with 13,000; and he has weak ahcievements in the games I dominated. So the sum doesn't tell you as much as the parts.

Well I was unable to get to 100 last night...I crapped out at 67, but I did get the lat of the items...
