Title: 360 Next Gen Games Where Are They?

i dont think anything will beat GOW as far as gameplay is concerned. lost planet is pretty good with the graphics and have the same effect as GOW bc its a third person shooter.

dead rising, oblivion, GoW, GRAW, and DoA4 are all "next gen" titles that give you gameplay not possible on last gen systems. look them up and enjoy.

i agree, with the addition a few more titles actually, i wonder wonder what 20 inch tv with 2 speaker set up he has....

for real, maybe the lack of an hdtv is the problem here....

I have always been in at least component input, but now I am rocking the 1080i and EVERY game looks remarkably better. Prey looks insanely better!!

Yeah I didn't feel truely nex gen until I got an HDTV. Had only played my 360 in SD until right after I got GoW. When playing GoW in SD I have to say I wasn't really impressed very much, yeah the graphics were great, but nothing to shit my pants over. About 2 weeks after GoW was out I got an HDTV for doing ALOT of mods for a guy. Have to say playing GoW in 1080i is absolutely stunning, HD makes a HUGE difference in the games. It kinda does suck that you have to have an HDTV to get the most out of your 360, but hey it's all new technology, we might as well get used to it.

now that all game companies can take note on how well gears of war sold, maybe they will strive to put a better product out there...but yes many games are lacking in innovation and really taking everything to the next level...even the graphics.

I think the games that really made a difference were Gears, Oblivion, and Fight Night Round 3. All other games including GRAW are somewhat mediocre.

"NextGen" is a completely subjective term. What is nextgen to one guy may be outdated garbage to the next. Gears is beautiful but IMO most of that credit is due to the art team and not so much to the graphical prowess (although that's very impressive). When the 360 launched over a year ago, games like Kameo and Condemned felt very nextgen to me. Now? Not so much... the bar has been raised and we're waiting for the next title to surpass.

The bottom line is that the next gen of console gaming was here the moment the 360 dropped. In a year from now Gears will look like lastgen garbage compared to the stuff coming out.... and I garauntee that people will still be making these posts about what is truly "nextgen".

Not to mention CoD2 and Rainbow Six: vegas. Add them to GoW, Oblivion, GRAW, FN3, and Dead Rising and i don't know how you can be dissatisfied.

If you want to be really dissatisfied, go and get the ps3 and see what it has to offer for 'next-gen' gaming. lol

Lets say two years ago, before the 360 was released, were you sitting around towards the end of its life asking "Is this NextGeneration?" I really doubt it. There will come a day where its not Next Gen anymore, and you just accept whatever we are getting as the current. You have to stop trying to see it as Next Gen or something o_O I forget where I was going with this post hah.

kill all that noise....part of what makes 360 "next gen" to me, is enhanced gameplay due to enhanced AI...other than a few titles like Halo, AI in the previous gen was pretty stupid....Games like GOW, Fear, R6 Vegas, hell even CoD2, all give me something gameplay-wise that I couldn't get on the previous consoles....why is this even an argument anymore?....and please, spare me the "but those games are on PC" comments...I'm a PC gamer too, but when all my friends can afford high powered pcs to play these games at high graphics settings, then you can say that....back to R6 Vegas

As far as Next Gen is concerned, we should see some great titles coming out soon as PS3 hots up to be released and some great games such as Metal Gear Solid 4! Many suprises await us in 2007 and we should see some great titles within the next 6 months i reckon.

Maybe I've set my bar lower than others, but I just picked up a 360 last week with Dead Rising, Gears of War, and COD 3. I've been having so much fun with COD 3 that I haven't even opened the other two games. I think the graphics are incredible and the online play is highly addictive. I don't mind the gameplay glitches that Treyarch hasn't fixed yet. I don't understand how someone can go from Xbox to COD3 on the 360 and not see Next Gen. It feels like Next Gen to me...

Also, doesn't this argument come up after every new batch of systems come out? It's getting tired.

Maybe some people are disappointed in the "next-gen" market because of the high-end wonderful looking CG cutscenes that have been seen on many last gen games, not to mention the PS3 games for a long time (when questioning "next-gen", always partially blame sony

)

Second of all, some people are immune to the "next-gen" wonder because they stay up to date with PC games, I got Half-life 2 for Christmas and it came out in early 2005 and it still looks "next-gen" to me, some games are ahead of their time and take away the specialness of many other less sparkly yet still awesome video games.

You lack good games ? Weird, I think there is ALOT good games on the 360 (both good graphics and nice gameplay). As an example I can tell some of the games I really like and have played through atleast once in single player mode: Tomb Raider Legend, Enchanted Arms, GoW, CoD3, Kameo, Rainbow Six Vegas, Burnout Revenge and Open Season (kiddie game but still fun

).

Also, games like Top Spin 2 and DOA4 roxx when you gather som friends at home and play with 2-4 controllers. I'm just waiting for Fuzion Frenzy 2 to be released, think it will be a fun partygame too.

What the fuck is wrong with people, on the Xbox and ps2 there were like three games that could play in a higher resolution than 480p.

That is last gen.

Now I can play every game in at least 720p and that is next gen, it is a huge jump in resolution and allows you to see nice textures, faces, sparks flying, ECT. Makes me want to kill my PC because before the 360 came out there was a huge huge huge gap in performance. Now that gap is much smaller.

Now as far as games I get to enjoy condemned, call of duty 2, Ghost recon, dead rising, oblivion, gears, prey, rainbow six and a shit load of other games in high res on a couch with surround sound while I sip a beer and smack my wifes ass!!

Now that is next gen bioch so quit whining and go play some games.

Rainbow Six Vegas has horrible graphics........ Well yeah GoW is the only next gen game to me. The rest were alright, graphics wise.

I'm sorry but you really should cut back on clubbin and doin E Trance, get a grip on reality, and understand that RSV DOES NOT have horrible graphics.

Are you serious? R6 has some of the best graphics IMO. I doubt that many would argue with me.

And just wait in another 12 months there will be tons of new games for us to salivate over.

im going to SLIGHTLY agree. Rainbow 6 graphics are not the best I've seen by a long shot. Granted, they are not HORRIBLE, but they aint great. The character models especially! But whatever, the gameplay is stellar! It's been enough to tear me away from lost planet for a day or two.

when talking about R6V I think you need to note whether you're talking about online modes or off line modes. I haven't played the actual game but based on the demos the graphics of the off line modes is phenomenal while the off line modes seems a bit dumbed down and rough around the edges by comparison.
