Open up the dvd rom and see if you recognize it. Then look all over it for scractches or any smudes or anything you would remember. And if you find any keep it and tell him to fuck his mom.

or if you can find the receipt from when you purchased it, they may have scanned the xbox itself upon checkout and the serial number will be on the receipt. If they match then you know where it went.

Or you can do this:

Put a game save on there, one that can show your game name or something on there, then show it to him to tell him that that's your Xbox if you are positively sure that it is yours.

Or like someone posted above:

Grow the balls & tell him that it's yours!  

Next time, do like I do, put some type of scratch or mark on the inside of your console/stuff to prove that it's yours. Let no one else know that you have identified your stuff that way.

I say you beat his ass anyway.  Then when you get your xbox back, you paint it, clear the jewel, put lights all over over it, chip it, put a 250 gig HDD in it, usb ports, and add an internal ethernet switch inside it.  Then you will know for sure if it is yours or not.

If yours was modded then he wouldnt give it to you to mod (unless he doesnt know that it's modded, in which case write your name on the bottom and then say its yours and take it).

just bring some whiteout with you next time your over there and when he goes to the bathroom peel back the rubber feet a lil bit and dab m a lil, then next week go over there again mention why he took your rental game in the first place and that your box was missing too, just grab the box peel the feet back give him a dirty look and call him an asshole and say i knew you took it i marked these feet along time ago yatta yatta and if he complains deck him
