This is the same source that told us Alan Wake was being published by MS well before the official announcement was made, so this info may indeed have some merit. Rumor mill for now though.

well the rumors seem to be popping up left and right lately.  here is another one, and i hope its actually true for once.  again i can care less for the FF series but it would bring 360 sales which is always good.  

with the rumors/reports of kojima jumping on board with the 360, GTA4 already coming, and maybe FF it would seem that sony may lose majority of its 3rd party advantages.  Some of this should be expected though as many developers and publishers have expressed much interest in making majority of their titles multi-platform to make up for rising development costs.

I agree, I dont care for the FF series either, always good for sales though pop.gif

I remember reading a while ago that Square planned on releasing an FF game for the 360, but it was going to be one of their spinoff series like Tactics or Crystal Chonicles.  I have a hard time getting excited for those.  I've basically given up on waiting for Square.  Playstation sells Square games and Square games sell playstations, I don't see it changing anytime soon.

I don't care for FF anymore. Though I found VII mind blowing. The thing that amazed me about it was that I expected to spend the whole game in Midgar. Then suddenly everything changes and this whole world is there for you! After that you come to expect that the whole world will be visted, and that the same characters types will be reused. Not to mention random battles are a waste of time. I need more excitement in my gaming today.

even less of a reason to buy a ps3. i dont want spin offs. i want the real deal.

Woolworth's UK has this game in at a price point of £29.99, this may be a preorder title, could not be bothered to ask a member of staff about it.

Yes, they are talking about another final fantasy, not the one you just posted (final fantasy online, which was just released last month).

For me, I'd be really pleased if they released another final fantasy title on the xbox360, eventhough I never really enjoyed all the recent FFs (playstation and up, the classic ones were the best for me, especially FF 6). I just love RPGs, especially turn based ones.

wow, i'm surprised to see so many people that didn't like the more recent FF games, i personally thought 7 and 8 where great (i'm not going to argue with you guys, 9 sucked) and 10 was great too. plus the kingdom hearts series was awesome, i'd love to see square give the 360 some titles that don't cost me $10 a month to play. while i agree with the comments about square and sony, don't forget they've been doing quite a bit for nintendo lately, so i wouldn't be too surprised if they put some good stuff on the 360 (and i said good, no crap like ffX-2).

Ditto, I would have thought you guys would have been gung-ho for a real deal final fantasy title. unsure.gif Not to jump on the bandwagon, but FFVII is my second favorite game of all time.  Such a killer story and character development.  Even if the qualtiy has gone downhill, if still ithing to get in on the action.

FF9 doesn't seem that bad. As for FF7, I'm actually playing the game at this very moment, and I think I'm going to beat it once and for all (finished FF8 already a couple of weeks ago). Its just that playing FF7 doesn't feel like final fantasy anymore for me (3 player party setup, futuristic world, etc) and the materia system isn't as fun as say, FF5's job system or the esper system. Also the battle system feels sluggish (but I think that's just me). IMO, it was just a breakthrough in graphics when it was released. Its still a nice rpg to play though.

I'm in the minority.  I loved FF for the NES and SNES, but once it came out for the PS with all it's futuristic/techno love story............barf...........i lost all interest.

I agree, bringing the FF series to the 360 would really help in terms of games sales. Have to admit that my favourite FF was VII. Dont think the ones since then have been all that.
