is it possible to get real names like you could download for regular xbox

That's incorrect, it is possible. You can get the roster save from HERE. To get the save on your 360, you have to either do the memory card to usb mod or hook your hdd up to your pc and use Xplorer360. Another alternative would be to buy the XSATA device from Datel XSATA

Any of these methods will work....
