Is anyone else? I mean in Halo 2, I goto Team Slayer but there is no actual teamwork! I mean im pinned in a room asking for help and they never come or I tell someone not to go somewhere because the other team is camping there. So what they do is walk in there and get killed! Its like every man for his self. Thats why im hyped for G.R.A.W. It looks like there will be real strategy and team work. Anyone else?

That's how it's ALWAYS been and probably will continue to be. See, no one wants to "take orders (as they may consider it)" from someone else. They don't want to be told what to do, they want to tell what to do. Even if it's info, it is usually seen as an order.
That's why it's good to play with amigos on XBL.
But, I'd like to think us 360 owners are a little better than the standard bickering
, but I KNOW we're not.
It may get a little better, but I wouldn't guess THAT much better.

everyone who got a 360 still only plays halo 2, well a majority. Halo 2 is sitll the most played game on LIVE

I need to fire Halo 2 back up in the 360. It was only played for about 10 minutes in there, and that's since Nov. 22.
It saddens me a little, but I love my DOA4 and my CoD2.

ROFLMAO That is some funny shite. but it's true I must agree.

As much as I hate halo, I seem to keep playing it. Hmmm..............
-
Halo 2 sucks because of all of the modders and the people who stand by. Hopefully Xbox 360 will not be hacked by the time Halo 3 arrives because then we will have more cheaters.........

I have the same feeling a lot.

well people can already access their harddrives, so couldnt they edit maps anyways. I'm sure they wont fix standby either...

How the hell do you come to a modding community and say shit like this?
And who are the modders you are speaking of? You played them on LIVE? Modded boxes can't log on to Live.
Well, here's to hoping the 360 does get hacked
I'm just saying, if you have something against modding, this probably isn't the ideal place to talk about it.

Why should we have discretion towards cheaters? Mod away, people, I got no problem with that. Master X is just saying that people cheat and glitch over Live. It's not necessarily modders, since they can't log onto Live (I'm a little suspicious of this, though, since I've seen groups of people doing some pretty unbelieveable stuff and talking about opening mods or whatnot).

I still play alot of Halo2 on live, and everyone is right, the community in general sucks because of the low quality of humans that play the game. There is usually no teamwork at all. But people, that is what clans are for. Get in a good clan and you'll discover that alot of people are actualy very much into strategy. That's when it's fun.
I'd love to be able to put away Halo2 forever, but as of right now we still don't have a good multiplayer FPS for the 360, or at least one that would be an adequate replacement.

But what are some of the "unbelievable stuff" you speak of?
I find that statement unbelievable.
people can make autoaim , super jump, speed, flying, unlimited ammo, flying warthogs, make weapons shoot other things than they are supposed to, etc.
-
Do what i do, follow the highest ranked person and steal his kills.
-
QUOTE(jaskerzada006 @ Mar 9 2006, 06:56 AM)

Yea, I'm aware of what you can do with a mod. But you can't do any of this on Live. So...
Yes you can. It takes a while for people to catch on that you're using a modded xbox. I've seen a flying warthog just this past week. Usually it takes 24 hours to ban an individual box from Live.
-
I've seen people doing super jumps (jumping a mile into the air) too.

I know what you mean.Three weeks ago when I was on live, somebody modified their magnum so that instead of shooting pistol rounds it would shoot sniper bullets
-
dude you are a complete ass. you dont know what your talking about. the cheaters on live that mod can only mod the new maps because they are on the hdd. so they softmod there xbox, mod the new maps on their hdd, turn the softmod off and go on live.. that way the mod is off and the modded maps are still in effect.
-
QUOTE(jaskerzada006 @ Mar 9 2006, 10:08 AM)

I can't believe the ignorance here!!!
A box running a moddified bios cannot log on to Live!!!
You're all full of shit and un-informed.
For one, chips and softmods only modify the bios when they are ENABLED.
Two, the maps are on the hard drive. Xbox live doesn't check specifically for modified maps in halo, only for modified xboxes in general (eeprom/harddrive mismatch, enabled modchip/softmod) And if they have figured out a way to check each map individually it is not effective enough.
You are aware people are still getting banned for cheating right
Anyways, Its better to keep your mouth closed and be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

AMEN brother...
jaskerzada006 - you should read more in these forums... you could learn alot...
btw - cheating sucks....

Does MS have the ability to SIGN maps files, or is that only execuatables (like .xbe's and .xex's)? If they could, wouldn't that eliminate ALL cheating (at least almost all)?
Sorry, I'm not up on the map modding, etc.

This is true, if you have a softmod that allows you to turn it off it can be done. But the cheater only gets banned once he has used the mods and has then switched off/rebooted his xbox and tried to log back into live. I have seen many cheaters leaving their xboxs on for excessive amounts of time to try and hack as much as they can.

There is really no question about it, people mod halo mp maps on live; the new maps more often, but even the older maps occasionally.
The way most jack asses do it is with the new maps that are stored on the Hdd. Once the map has been modded, and signed with the appropriate key, then the mod chip is turned off, or the softmod is undone. Now the retard can go on to live, and all the new maps will be recognized as authentic ones. The ding dong will not get banned for quite some time, contrary to what bungie has said, and most think. He can turn off his xbox and log off live, and then return in all is pathetic, cheating glory for many a day before bungie has enough "proof" that the said retard is cheating.
The other way is to log onto live with your mod chip on, or softmoded xbox. One can do all the cheating one want with the old and new maps without being booted/banned until he logs off live and tries to rejoin, then he will be banned.
EDIT: If i play halo2 matchmaking on live for but 2hrs at a time, i will play against someone with modified maps. Because of this i now only play non-matchmaking games on live, and mostly xbconnect.
Halo 2 really needs to have two catigories of games, non-ranked and ranked......both with the same amount of game types. Plus, a section of nothing but MLG with different game types to choose. Just having Hardcore, with all gametypes randomly mixed into one, doesn't cut it. I just want to play TS MLG.
-
This is why I quit playing MP Halo and also gave up playing on Kai. Too many cheaters. Playing GR2:SS on Kai I have sniped people in the friggin eye, emptied full clips at close range, even fragged and they haven't died. But I get killed shot in the ankle with a silenced Baretta.
Game development houses need to build game critical data files (like damage infliction data) into a signed and compiled file somehow, instead of an INI that can be edited once access to the hard drive is achieved.
-
dont matter the mods dont need a hacked bios to run, its just an edited map and if the box is hardmodded chip it turned off and if its softmodded, the person modding the maps just turns off their softmod.
