unless they do a lot of reworking on the graphics engine for the ps3 that isnt going to happen. if anything they will probably run at a slightly higher resolution (1080i?) and thats about it. the game is maxed out on the 360 and there really isnt anything more you could do to improve besides upping the rez. or the framerate. if anything i imagine it will be more bug-free and have better more refined online options, that is all. the fact of the ps3 having "greater" hardware potential has still yet to be proven, as many developers will tell you otherwise. real world performance is always different then what the specs say on paper
im curious to see how spiderman turns out though, i liked 1 and loved 2. hopefully it wont be cell-shaded like their last spiderman game.

God I can't wait until you're disappointed by the PS3's supposed superiority. Especially on ported games. In the history of gaming, when have cross platform games ever truly been better then their brethren? I sincerely doubt (not because I'm a fanboy, but because the PS3's fill rate is terrible) that CoD2 will look any better than the 360 version. It will most likely be on par with it, but not superior. And I wouldn't doubt for a second that it's not going to be in HD.

i knew the fill-rate was bad, but i didnt know it was that bad
i would love to believe that to be true but it cant be. if the system cant run CoD2 in HD, then how will it run any game in HD? as pretty as CoD2 is, it barely scratches the surface to what the 360 can do.

i see, i see. i remember reading (from M_hael and other sites) how the ps3 is a poly monster, but i cant find any estimated numbers to how many it pushes. for a company who likes to gloat and over-exagerate their specs i find it odd how none of the specs listed shows anything about a peak poly count and they seem to be keeping that number in the dar. we know about the 360's estimated 500 million a sec. (even though im sure its not that high) but im curious to how the ps3 compares in that respect.
back to the topic however. im really curious and excited to the possibilities of how a spiderman game can look on the next gen hardware. i was impressed by spiderman2 and can only imagine how much better it could look and play on the next game. if they can make it more natural with the crimes and make the whole world seem more seamless and believable then that would help a great deal with the immersion factor.

If they were to do anything as far as making improvments they will make it 1080p. Granted not many people have that capability. But that would be the improvment. 720p is a better resolution than 1080i. Or rather the way it is shown to us makes it appear a lot better.

no way will it run in 1080p. the ps3 does NOT have the fill rate to handle games at 1080p. also the whole 720p vs. 1080i debate has been argued about so much its a mute point. to me high def is high def and they both look damn good.

you will get both sides of an arguement on that question. however majority of opinion seems to believe that where the ps3 may have the advantage on the 360 in the CPU area, the 360 has the advantage over the ps3 on the GPU side. there are many features you can point out about both to make a statement. IMHO, yes the xenos is a better built GPU. it has 48 pipelines where the ps3 only has 24. couple that with the unified shaders and it should make the 360 a shader monster to be reckoned with. basically for every technical advantage one console has, the other can claim something else to offset it.

I back up Kage on this one. The RSX is like an afterthought... thrown in there to provide the support that Cell alone can't do. I gotta say ATI wins this round.

i see nothing wrong with well informed people correcting someones assumptions. also about the cards its more or less of a toss-up. however unified shaders aside, the pipelines DO make a difference. i gave my personal opinion, and thats an opinion of someone who loves Nvidia hardware. however recent releases would point to ATI taking the lead in not only performance but also in video quality......

me too, i cant wait for all of the next gen systems to be released just to get the next gen fully rolling. that way hopefully more developers will start to concentrate only on next gen systems/engines/games.

i dont think an actual ps3 vs. 360 debate is taking place here (for once), what is being debated is if the ps3 version of CoD2 will be vastly improved like some (ozy for instance) would believe. Master X asked an honest question IMO and was given answers, both biased and not.
as for the spiderman game, i would imagine they are going to make a video game version of the third movie. so there is no telling how many enemies will be in it, though i think its safe to say that it will be the largest spiderman game yet (hopefully). cant wait to see what they do with villains like venom on the next gen systems.

I did not say that the ps3 version of the game would be vastly improved. You seem have something against me kage.
I said that the ps3 version my be better seeing as it is coming out later on a system that is coming out nearly a year later. With all the porting that they need to do it would seem stupid to not have any graphical improvements at all.
As for wurms comment on when have ports being better - what about 3 GTA games for Xbox?
I'm not saying the ps3 is better, I'm not wanting to get into a ps3 vs xbox 360. And in future I'm not even going to mention that 3 character word that seems to fill you with rage, kage.
