Title: What's The Deal With Square-enix?

Back when FFXI was announced for the 360, MS made a big deal about the future of their relationship with Square-Enix.  I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what the details of their relationship are?  Is Square-Enix actually developing for the 360?   Will we be getting any exclusive titles or at the very least, a unified release of any new Final Fantasy games?   I haven't heard much on the subject and I'm starting to wonder if FFXI is all we can expect to see from them?

Yeah, theyre supposed to be making another game for 360.

If you think about it, its actually a pretty good way of doing things. They take a crappy game like FFXI, and use it to learn the 360. So when they release a new game, they dont have to fumble around with the hardware as much.

I look at this way (since I am older gamer)
Square has no loyalties. When Nintendo would not make a CD player for there next system they jumped ship and went to Sony.
They will see who has the better machine / market share and develop for that console. I am hoping that the 360 wins out on this one.

MS already has Mist Walker on board exclusively, if they can get either the main FF series and/or DQ series exclusively on Xbox 360, it would GUARANTEE success in Japan.

arnt they making 2 RPGs that are exclusive to the 360? are they MMO or offline (im hoping offline because i LOVED ff 1-10 and im guessing these RPGs will be similar to FF)

I don't think Square-enix as said anything about making any game exclusively on 360, yet.

There is supposedly more titles coming but that is all anyone realy knows right now

Thanks for the replies everyone.  I'm really hoping for an immersive offline RPG.  Morrowind and Fable kept me occupied on the original Xbox, but I'm dying for a japanese style game like only square can deliver.

I was truly dissapointed when they jumped ship to Sony.  The only Playstation games I ever owned were FFVII & VIII, and Crono Cross.  IMO, it would be foolish not to capitalize on the ever growing MS market that has been craving thier games for a few years now.
