Got them fine here, but the sound cuts out for a second or two every minute or so.  Something isn't working right.

Seems to be working now...

I am downloading them now.  Stupid slow xbox live downloads.

a little off topic, but are there game emulation stuff preloaded on 360's? can you play halo 2 out of the box or do you have to download? it would be cool if 360 could do that out of the box(i have yet to get mine, though i have the money)

You can play halo 1 and 2 "out of the box", their emulation profiles are already on the hdd.

But..... i recommend connecting to live, because as it is there is no AA in either of the two halo's, and the new live patch enables AA.  Looks real good with no "jaggies" at all.

Does live do this update automatically?  We played Halo after being on live and it wasn't completely wide screen.

Can someone help me out. I ran the update on the 360 as i inserted the disc, and now i am trying to dl the maps. I was able to download the killtacular pack, and bonus map pack, but I can't dl the maptacular pack. it keeps telling me "installation of content failed. see www.xbox.com for more support information".

I have over 12gb free, cleared the cache, and still comes up with that error. Please help! I can't even play halo 2 online till all the new maps have dl'd

I'd try going into the files on your hard drive and deleting the corrupted map pack.  Then restart and re-download.  I had a similar issue and this worked for me.
