I can't wait for Midway Treasures 3... #2 had MK2 and MK3 which was enough for me to buy it...
but Treasures 3 is just heaven with the games they're including.

Aside from Badlands and Mud, Sweat 'N Gears all of the games there is a favorite of mine.
I got a huge smile on my face when I heard it had San Francisco 2049... I turned completely giddy when I heard it had both Race Drivin and S.T.U.N. Runner as well.
I'm sure most of you remember Race Drivin (and if you don't you should be shot for not having stepped foot inside an arcade). For those of you who never saw Stun Runner... it was essentially the grandfather of F-Zero.. I played pretty much that and Mortal Kombat as a child in the arcade.

As for XBL Arcade including a dreamcast emulator...
My guess is NOT LIKELY... OXM also said that the 360 might be getting Mario and Zelda titles because they didn't fit with the controller scheme of the Revolution... YEAH RIGHT! That's why Nintendo is able to make it BC all the way back to the NES... because they controllers will bot SO different... I like OXM, the demo disc is great and they get some good game previews that others dont... but some of their shit is just off the wall.

Ahhh yes, Midway Treasures 3...
Unfortunately, I have heard that Battle Mode will not make the cut. Neither will Stunt Mode. It will only be the Arcade games.
With MS, I guess it's possible. All they'd have to do is buy the rights to use the software. They just need to determine if the cost is worth the price they could sell it at.

Well I used to work in an arcade on a beach boardwalk fixing machines....
The owner also owned a TON of rental cottages, the really trashy places had all the interior walls gutted and were used for storage of "retired" arcade machines...
One day he told me to get the truck and throw out everything in one of the cottages (about 50 machines). Most of them were really junk, things like old redemptions machine, or good games that had been totally striped for part or broken... I asked if I could keep a few machines my boss was like "I don't give a shit what you do with them just get rid of them"
I salvaged a Double Dragon and a Ring Kings machine for myself and got an old Contra machine for a friend of mine... the rest went to the dump (I would have kept more myself but I had no place to keep them, as I was staying with my parents for the summer before going back to school. I also grabbed an extra working monitor out of one of the other machines.
I later ordered 2 broken UMK3 boards from ebay at about $20 a piece... one had corrupt EPROMs and the other one had busted sound... I ripped the good EPROMs from one one with bad sound and re-programmed the busted ones. Then I found a junk machine at work to repair the sound on the other board. After that I converted the Double Dragon machine... The instruction booklets that come with the machines often have the controller panel patters in them. I found an MK2 machine in storage at work and photocopied the patterns out of it and made a completely new controller panel from scratch. I sold the 2nd board I fixed for about $75 and used that to buy new buttons and joysticks for the panel I made.
As for the Ring Kings machine I broke the monitor trying to rotate it (it was vertical and most "worth while" games have horizontal monitors). So I though "no worries that's why I grabbed the spare" to my dismay my mother tried moving it and smashed the back of the tube... I'll probably just junk both monitor and grab a nice big PC CRT for a mame cab or something.
You can find a decent cab for about $500 +Shipping on ebay and game boards for that era rarely go over $100... if you look hard enough you can probably find a whole MK3 machine for $500...

Funny...those are what I am using for the sticks in my machine...I did strip out the original parts and put in HAPP (real arcade) parts for that Authentic feel...the sticks are solid either way and you have to love the art (main reason I got em)

I picked the double dragon machine specifically because it was built with conversions in mind... there is a drawer on the bottom that houses all of the electronics so you can swap out game boards without moving the machine. Also the monitor is on a rotating assembly and loosening 2 wing nuts you can rotate it 90 deg. It's a perfect cab for a MAME or generic JAMMA application

Twisted, working at an arcade definately has it's advantages
My uncle owned an arcade down in Mexico City. Every time he would visit up here he'd asked me to follow him over to Sega and SNK to see what was the latest and greatest arcade games at the time.
I've always wanted to own my own cabinets, looks like I'll have to pick up one of those books!

The menus look a lot better from the menus in the emu's that I have seen.
