Title: Wireless Usb Device
Post by: JiMBo_009 on December 04, 2006, 12:37:00 AM
Hi i'm kinda new as you have probbly guess because what i am about to ask has probbly been asked a few times. I have been looking around for the past few days for a cheap way to get my xbox working on the wireless network. I was just wondering if anyone knows what wireless USB adapters work or usb routers, i saw someone mention a travel router d-link pack.

All ideas will be greatly apreciated and please don't flame me, i need a quick response.

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK no wireless USB device other than the official will work with it. Just connect it via an ethernet cable.

FROM THE REVIEWS:
The receiver is very good though a bit fiddly to setup. You must have a PC with an ethernet connection in order to set it up. Don't call the support line which is £1 per minute. Also read the instructions carefully if you do this you will have it working quite quickly.

Once setup it works brilliantly the signal is strong and it supports 8.11g which is faster and has a better range than the Microsoft wireless adapter making it a better buy.

It also attaches nice and neatly to your XBox and works through the ethernet port.

Ummm.....The Microsoft adapter si B/G/A compatible....so it won't be any faster/better range because it has G....

Anyway it sounds like it's just a normal ethernet style wireless adapter. You can get these anywhere just about from any major brand of networking gear.

Linksys

D-Link

Netgear

And I'm sure any other company you can think of has them too.

If you want a cheap solution I'd recommend buying a Linksys WGA11B used from ebay.
