so is it possible to use a wireless router instead of the usb adapter for 360?

If you plug it in with a Ethernet cable it should work fine.

like i already have a wirless modem set up for the computers and using another modem jsut for the  
360 as an access point im haven't trouble setting up the dns for the 2nd router

wireless modem ? do you mean wireless router. if you are using 2 wireless routers then they need to be on differnt network like 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1. if the 2nd router is not a dns client of the frist router then you need to put the info into the router manually.
