Title: Help Networking On A Mac
Post by: cianc1 on April 27, 2006, 09:00:00 AM
I can connect my 360 straight to an apple airport base station but I want to connect it to my iBook G4 which is connected wirelessly to the base station.
I set it up to share the connection on the ethernet port on the iBook but the 360 can't get an ip address.
Any help?

hey buddy,

sorry i don't deal in mac, but this might help you.

what are you trying to do?  are you trying to share music/photos?  can't do it with a mac.

trying to share an internet connection?  better check what kind of protocol you're set up using.  i don't think your 360 is going to communicate too well unless you're in standard tcp/ip.  i think mac defaults to appletalk for internal...  but like i said, i don't use mac so i don't know.

good luck to you.

It for an internet sharing connection.
By the way you can share iTunes and your photos with software called connect 360. I have used it and it's good

Have you made sure that it gets it IP automatically on the mac.

And also is the ethernet port getting a ip and not the 360 or are both not getting a ip

Yes the both have their isp's automatically configured but they don't seem to connect.
Should the ethernet isp's on each be the same?
