I got my xbox 360 this morning and ever since i´ve beeng doing alot of exploring.
The Xbox-360 is indeed the best gaming device and media center i´ve seen.
Now, the only flaw i can see right now is as follows:
The whole media center to xbox 360 really SUCKS!! offcourse in the near future someone will make a xbox chip and then i think that you will be able to stream movies from your pc to the xbox 360.
That is as far as i´ve got today, i have not been playing at all today just trying to get pc to xbox streaming working. (in the movie part)
I´m checking what is so special with the media center streaming, i getting my hands dirty on this and will try to get a solution (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

If you know anything that is related to the movie streaming plz make a post! it would help alot.
(I got the xbox today and don´t know much about the new console, mabye there is already a program that i´m trying to build. If so plz post it so i don´t have to waste my time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif))

Windows media connect and the windows media center media connect lacks the ability to stream videos to your xbox 360, but how can i make a program that has that ability, i have been trying to find a good streaming program for windows xp but no luck, i´ve also overseen the fact that why not put the movies directly to the hd.
well i find that streaming the videos from a pc will be much better! in the sence that the hd only have 20 gb of space. i have a 500mhz pc @ home and i think i will install windows media center on that one and try that and see what i can do from there.
if there is someone sitting with a good streaming program for the pc please let me know.
if there is someone working with programming a streaming program for just this mabye we can team up!

Wait a second! Are you saing that if a PC is running on XP Pro and has Windows Media Connect it can stream movies??? Cuz I have all that.

Why don't you just install MCE2005 and then download VLC360 and then you can stream DivX movies, no problem

media connect doesn't turn your computer into a media center pc. check out Ms's website and browse for media center on it and you'll see everything it will do. biggest difference between the xbmce and MCE2005 is the DVR functions of TV.
as for streaming video, the only way to stream any type of video with the 360 is with media center... this isn't media connect, which is what is used for the media blade to work. this is a totally different operating system than xp pro. even then, media center only streams .dvr-ms, .wmv, and .mpg. that's it. the dvr-ms is for the tv functions of media center. there is an app where the computer will transcode dvix and vidx to where it can stream. MS is talking about opening the video's option under the media blade to stream video using media connect, but I still see MS not supporting dvix as they are right now. if you have any other questions about this, let me know.
