Title: I Want To Update The Dash, Freeboot, And Dashlaunch Installation
Post by: vendris on November 16, 2010, 04:46:00 AM
I checked the guides section which only found flashing tuts or outdated guides.

Im currently running Freeboot 0.32 (atleast I think its frb 0.32) with dashboard 9199, and an outdated version of dashlaunch with freestyle dash 2.0.

my XELL loader is XELL 0.3.r99.3-git-

The box is a 256 MB JASPER

As far as im aware the guy who installed the jtag mod (which passed away a few months ago in an accident, so I, obviously cant mail him with questions  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) did not remove the fuseset so I'm looking for an guide on how to update because im affraid I might fuck it up if I just start doing shit.The reason I want to update is because I read the new games can be played without patched XEX's

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: seems I lost my original nand backup  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Got the original nand used before the JTAG on a cd  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I cant seem to edit my post anymore, sorry for the double post anyway,

I followed these instructions;

http://digiex.net/gu...ash-kernal.html

This however is for freeboot 0.32 and 9199 dash, except that I followed these steps with the NEW toolbox namely the freeBOOT Toolbox 0.04 Maker v2.5 rev2

I generated the updflash.bin and am ready for the actual flash part but have 2 more questions regarding this.

If you used the most current freeBOOT Toolbox, the image you are creating is for the 12611 dashboard (Kinect).

Once flashed, NXE's 9199 will go away and you will be met with Kinect's 12611 when booting with the power button.
You have backed up your current NAND, yes? Just as a precaution.

Once flashed, if you want avatar support, you will need to download the 12611 System Update from Microsoft and apply it. It will add some code onto your storage device that will then let you view avatars. Other than that, you do not need to download any files related to Kinect's 12611 dashboard; it's all built in to freeBOOT Toolbox.
