The XDK has been around for quite a while now, and is virtually PD on some sites that don’t know any better.

I’m sure I’m not the only one getting increasingly paranoid about these add-on XBE files, having malicious code compiled with them, either by Manga comic wankers or Whitehats working for you know who. we can hardly add xbox virus signatures to our liveupdate.

I’m not going to run any game add-on XBE files until they have been in circulation for a while.

What are peoples thoughts on this topic. ?

Your spot on there, The south americans are big offenders now too.  But I'd put money on a german doing the first major malicious code attack.

Great!  Now we have people like you enticing others to create a virus.  That helps the scene.  Why not try to port or code a Virus protection software, instead of betting who will create the first virus?  Makes sense to me.

You do relize that more a file "circulates," the more likely someone will "attach" a virus to it. Besides I'm with nmajin on someone making a Norton port, then we could get scandisc and defragmenter too.

Not quite what I was getting, for example I downloaded the Halo Pal trainter patch 7 days ago, and I'll wait while its in circulation for a week to see if anyones HDD or bios getts fried, before installing it on mine.

I believe that the easiest way to distribute a .xbe virus would be naming it "Tecmo's Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball - Nudity patch".

Incase you wanted to know I'm South African and I believe we ALL in the XBOX scene should not point fingers or resort to name calling..  We are all here to make things better for the homebrew scene..

I Bet you that mod chip, kernel , XBOX and Controller you are using had some German, Asian, and South American hands in it.. YET you dont complain using products by "these" kind of people when it suits you..   <_<
