Title: Xbfilezilla? What's It Used For?
Post by: Shafted! on February 07, 2003, 11:57:00 AM
I read the txt file that comes with it, and basically it is another FTP server. However, it does have passive mode, which the evox dash does not.

It can also be incorporated into different other apps, like xbmp, something i dont know how to do, and something i'm waiting for to be released.

XBMP + FTP = kick ass.

So aside from these facts, what's xbfilezilla to be used for? I mean, is passive that much better? Would it speed things up? i'm already getting 5mb sec transfer, so should i even bother to use this program?

It's to be used as part of other homebrew software, such as Xbox media player.
Passive mode is usefull in server to server transfers. It's not necessary for PC to Xbox transfers.
If you're a developer you may use XBFileZilla in your homebrew project as you see fit.
If you're not, just wait until someone finds it usefull enough to incorporate it in his/her project.
