which is the best Linux  to install on the xbox and what is the simplest to install. Do i have to flash my mod chip to a differnt bios to run linux?

Nope, you don't have to flash. Check out the tutorials at the XS main page to find out more

Try Lindows as i installed it on my pc and it looks like windows XP.

Just a note: I've had Linux Mandrake on my Xbox, and I would NOT recommend ppl to install this sys...! (no affence to the makers)... If you haven't used Linux before, and you have PC, I would STRONGLY recommend that you start off, by getting the free LinuxMandrake for the PC...
This way you can check out, if Linux is anything of interest to you...
This is not an attempt to keep ppl from installing Linux on their box ('cause I think it's a wonderful sys! :) ) BUT you need to realize that it's gonna change your Xbox in some way you might not had realized.... (read the tutorials/faqs for info on this!)

Definately read the tutorials before you attempt this.  You have various different options as to how you can do things, and there's some serious considerations to be made.  Don't jump in the deep end.
