Title: "cant Find The Update Disc" When Starting Up

I purchased a broken xbox off of ebay and heres the problem:

when i power on it loads up then says "updating"
then: "Disc Not detected Cant find update Disc. Please reinsert disc."

since i dont know just what update disc its looking for what are my options here?
it looks like the old dashboard to me, pretty sure its not NXE. soooo.. whats next
im gonna try the hd-dvd 10-2006 update disc and see if that works but ive got a feeling not.

any help TIA

try the latest update on a usb drive and hold sync before you power it until it starts updating.

thanks but i wanna make sure i dont update it with the update that blocks the jtag hack.

which one should i use or where can i possibly find downloadable updates

ok well i tried the fall update on both flash and disc no go. not sure what the prob here is.
maybe ill just use this box for xell?

Sorry triple post.. .a little O.D. i know but i got it working. and i figured i'd close this out with a solution for future assistance

after the downloaded updates didnt work i decided to start throwing in a bunch of random games..
the one that worked happened to be fifa 08 so if anyone else comes across this try different games as they may have the update the system is looking for on them.
