Title: Installing M8 Bios
Post by: MrG on April 03, 2005, 06:11:00 PM
well i downladed the M8 bois from #xbins there where 2 different .BIN files.
one was m8.bin and the other i believe was m8_16.bin. i ftp the m8.bin to the c on my xbox. i rebooted and i flashed the m8.bin, when i load it i get the pink evox on the left corner but then it loads the regular dash board. i used the slayers intaller and did the "stealth installation" and tried the regualar on the c. i problem is that i can not load the evo dashboard. i know im missing somethine but i just cant put my finger on it. any help will be greatly appreciated. my system is a v1.0 xbox with xenium ice 2.3.0 the hard drive was a pre installed b 4 and i accidentally wiped everything i had and i just want to have it back and running.

thank u,
any help will be grealty appreciated. <

You need to run XBTool (latest version) on your BIOS and change to boot order.

Make it boot your personal dashboard first. <

Ahh crap sorry, I got that wrong. You need the latest version of EVTool, you dont need XBTool at all. <

Open up the program, in the bottom-right corner, hit Open... and open up your BIOS.

Near the middle of the program, you can choose your "Boot Partitions and Executables"

DVD will be default.xbe, but you can change "1st" to your dashboard. <

same thing happened to me... here what u do... locate/download evolution 3921 builder.. or what ever its called (do search for evolution 3921) then simply ftp that into your c drive then boot m8. it SHOULD run the evox dashboard.

(if it dosent work i may have left out steps... i just kinda stumbled through the process and guessed alot of it but it worked for me... ) <

MrG: Open the bios on your PC with the EVTool program, which is also on your PC.  Then FTP the bios back to the xbox and with whatever you used to get it on the mod chip in the first place, put the new one on it. <

Why are you trying to use M8 bios on your version 1.0 xbox ? M8 bios is for version 1.6 xboxs only. <
