This probably isn't possible, but I was wondering if there is a way to have a bios that will not run unsigned code (preferably with the security features of 5713+) that skips error 5 check, has lba48 support, IGR, and BFM to boot..:) Actually a bfm that skips error 5 check would be sufficient.. I traded away my lockable hdd, so I can no longer run retail bioses to test exploit possibilities (pipe-dreams, but it passes the time..)

you in uk? i can sort your xbox out.

I'm in Canada.. And other than this bios I don't need any help.. I'm tsop'd myself (w/2 bank 1.0 switch), and I install softmods on all kinds of boxes without problem.. There are alot of ppl doing research work in this area and I miss it without a lockable hdd.. I'm assuming I'm just gonna need to break down and swap a stock hdd in each time for testing purposes..:(

Why not just get your HD key from your eeprom, buy a 120 gig (or watever size you want) lockable hard drive, lock it with your HD key, boot to an original bios and then test your exploits. I hate to break it to you but I don't think there is a lot of demand for a hacked bios that doesn't run unsigned code and so I doubt one will ever be made.

Gee why didn't I think of that when I traded my lockable 120GB for an unlockable 160GB (I'm tsop'd).. Because I don't want to drop $100+.. I realize that there is no demand for this bios, I was just hoping some guru who helped developed the hacked bioses would pipe in with a hex string or whatnot that returns the bios to retail security.
-
so you want a hacked buis that can go on xbox live? casue that would be cool...
-
No, XBL is as valuable to me as a warm bucket of hamster vomit:).. I want a hacked bios that only runs software that a retail bios will run.. Its tough to know if a softmod technique works if your bios runs any code no questions asked.. In anycase, looks like its not gonna happen..

It would be easier to find a lockable HDD.....

stock xbox hd's go for dirt cheap on ebay. i dont know if their locked or not though

Might as well end this I guess.. To clear up any confusion I have quite a few original xbox hdd's.. I just thought "Hey, it would be sweet if...." so I had to ask in slim hopes that it might be a relatively easy hexedit or something.. I guess my case is gonna stay apart for another 10 months or so since I'm gonna be swapping lots of hdds..:)
BTW, I am aware of the dual/tri+ hdd switch mods.. Not considering that an option..
