No I dont think its possible because 56k modems work from PCI slots (internal) or Serial ports (external) neither of which the Xbox has.

Nope. Even if you could create/adapt some drivers to run on the xbox you wouldn't be able to use them when in a game but maybe a dash (you better be damn good at programming to even do that.) Sorry man. You're pretty much SOL on this one. At the very least you would need a PC to do Internet Connection Sharing and run a crossover to your xbox. You still wouldn't be able to play many (if any) games online. Most xbox games require a high speed connection.

You might try to connect to the internet using your pc and then enable internet connection sharing through a router or hub.

sure it is possible. Just install linux(say XDSL) and a USB modem. Better make sure the modem is not one of those "winmodem" variant which linux may not have the driver.

But 56k dialup is quite limited, especially for xbox(linux) usage. What do you intend to use it for, just curious ?

yes, you can but 98 won't see the modem, you need to use it under linux then treat linux as the gateway, from 98.

But surfing on Xbox will not be a good experience, because of its very fuzzy display(and limited resolution too, 640x480). My P100 notebook bought 7 years ago beats it in this regard.
