ok
I hooked the sammy(not modified) with via 6421
boot into windows 7 32bit
open jungleflasher and clicked sammy unlock

the unlock process went fine. all stages pass.

Then I click read. generates ofw.bin or something but the keys are all 0s

I realised something wrong so I put the drive back into the xbox360 and you know what? original game wont play anymore

looks like I am screwd. does sammy unlock erases key now?

it wont work in your xbox beacuse it still in vendor mode ,sam unlock will not wipe the key you have to click earse yourself
try reading the key again as the 000 one is obv bad
drive should say in vendor mode with status x70 DONT click write or earse untill you have a valid key
load your sam ofw file into jf see what key it gives you prefibly in the new jf and sending a outro command would make it work in xbox again unless you earsed it without getting key and by clicking sam unlock ALONE
that would be impossible ..

sorry I should be more clear.
I am using a xtractor with this sammy.
shouldnt the sammy return back from vendor mode if I unplug it from xtracotr and put back into the xbox?

if so shouldnt it work?

I tried again in dos using dosflash still not valid key.
I have restarted the computer with the drive

you could also use dos to try and get the key..VIA chipset is known to have issues with windows flashing apps. but VIA comes into its own when using dos. it can break through samsungs firmguard with the 10 second bad flash technique..you wont have to worry about unlocking and vendor modes that way..

no you have to click outro for it to go back to previous state
dosflash32 (xbins) or dos should get you the key just dont wipe it yet or it will be fubar..

give one of your onboard sata ports a try see if that gives you a key before dos ..

I havent tested the console before modding though maybe it came with a zeroed samsung?

can I send any of you guys my firmware dump from jungleflasher and see if there is actually no key?

Biggest mistake people make. Always test to see if the console and drive works before you even take it apart.

Sounds like someone screwed the drive up before you got your hands on it.

thanks guys.

decided to take it back to the guy and get a new one.
I usually dump sammy in dos this is the first time I use jungleflasher for a stock sammy.

Its a 06 model with original heatsink and everything no hdmi, the guy claimed it reads games no problem.

Of course, if you havent already actually taken it back.

I like how you accidentally done it, then accidentally accepted the warning.

then use firmtool? the firmware has a "valid" key, 16 bytes of 0x00 -> Firmtool will give the exact same key.

I tried dosflash in dos and didnt manage to get it either.

Then I boot into windows 7, send outro to it so I can return back from vendor mode.

Then I unplug it from the xtractor and hook it back to the xbox boot an original game no go (played it like a dvd-video with that stupid please put this disc into a xbox360 console message).

I guess that proves the drive never has got the right key in it in the first place. gonna return it and see

as i tell you before, the problem is the sammy unlock, i can asure that the console works ok before you use sommy unlock on it, (i work flashing consoles, i do more tha n 1000 flashings and i see more than 10 sammys that have keys 00000000000 after sammy unlock, i dont know why but hapeens and is easy to solve) if you just send me the .bin file i can retrive the correct key using an hex editor, and send it back to you in minutes but is VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ONLY READ THE FIRMWARE AND NOT ERASE OR WRIGHT THE DRIVE., federico
PS: my mail is [email protected]

PS": sorri for mi english

Open the f/w you have in a hex editor, look from 0x4000 and you'll find the key.

No use now, but better to be prepared (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You should have sent the bin to get Hex editor recovery, now the guy who sold it to you is just going to write off as scrap and not know whats wrong.

That was easily fixable.

hi, ZYO,  he is right, i offer you to fix your problem in minutes and for free just when you ask for help, and you never answer, you did not wait a single day and now you send the system back, now another person must pay for your own mistakes, thats is no good man !!! by the way way you ask for help in the first place???
